Citizens for Sound Economy?
I have been reading the news journal over the past two weeks and have made a few observations. First, I completely realize that in order to be an elected official you must sell yourself to the CSE. I must admit that the name makes one believe that everyone should be a member. It sounds logical. The editorial this week made reference of the power of a 3-2 vote. I believe that the 3 are all strong CSE members. Now, what is fascinating to me is that just by being a member of CSE it would make sense that you would want to interview candidates for the county manager job. I must admit that I agree with the 2 votes that voted against. And like them it is not personal. The gentleman hired may be the best for the job, I do not know. And neither do the other 3. How can you say you are a CSE and do such? They had no clue what the salary was going to be, they had no clue how much the former manager would charge for consulting...How Sound is that???
Bottom line here is how it went down. The 3 new the salary it would take. They like the man they hired. So that is what they did. No regard for the county. Please don't tell me they wouldn't have had any applications.
Again, the gentleman may be the best, but we will never know.
